Spacing: content vs inner padding
Content padding is space around the block in the column. Inner padding is space inside the block, around the copy or image.
What is content vs inner padding?
Most blocks have two padding layers. Content padding is the gap between this block and its neighbours in the column. Inner padding is the inset around the text, image, or button label.
Theme layout padding sets defaults for body, section, column, and blocks. Changing padding on a block overrides the theme for that field.
How to set spacing
| Property | Options | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Content padding | px, or More options per side | Space around the block in its column |
| Inner padding | px, or More options per side | Space inside the block around the content |
| Theme layout padding | Body, section, column, and block defaults | Starting gaps for the whole email |
| Mobile padding | Overrides when the canvas is in mobile preview | Tighter or looser spacing on small screens |
Use More options to set top, right, bottom, and left independently.
