Deliverability basics
Inbox placement depends on your sending domain and the email itself. Openly compiles the HTML; you authenticate the domain.
What is deliverability?
Deliverability is whether a sent email lands in the inbox instead of spam or a bounce. Openly compiles email-safe HTML and can send a test. Inbox placement for a real campaign still depends on the domain and service you send from.
Authenticate the sending domain
Ask your email provider to set SPF and DKIM on the domain in the From address. DMARC is the policy that tells inboxes how to treat mail that fails those checks. Openly does not host those DNS records for you.
This article does not describe a specific account plan. Follow your provider's domain setup.
What to check in the email
- Set a clear subject and a preheader on the Email tab. Empty or duplicated snippets look like spam.
- Give every image alt text. Health Check flags missing alt.
- Avoid phrases Health Check lists under deliverability, such as “click here” or “act now”.
- Include a way to unsubscribe if you send marketing mail. That is a legal requirement in many places.
Run Email Health Check before you export or send. Fix Critical items first.
